I'm now halfway done with this artwork after so much struggle. As predicted, I've switched to using the brush tool for the most part. I still use the mouse for the face and only for that. I've also found a program that makes my game controller into a mouse. This is new but better than my last mouse. My only complaint is that it's hard to understand how to program the mouse the way that I want with my controller. Such as it sometimes moves two pages at a time when I navigate backwards or forwards in a browser even though I pressed the bumpers only once. The only controls that do this are the bumpers and triggers. I'm glad to have joysticks over trackballs nonetheless. I wish that I could use all of the buttons on my controller properly though.
